Significant length is kept on top and worn up and back, with the sides taken much shorter for contrast. It needs enough length at the front to build height, so growing into one takes patience.
Who it suits
- Thick, straight hair that can hold height
- Anyone willing to spend a few minutes styling each morning
- Longer face shapes are usually better served by less height
Styling it
- Blow dry upward and back from damp. The height comes from drying, not from product.
- A stronger hold product is needed than for most cuts here.
As it grows out
The top can keep growing, but the sides lose their contrast quickly, which is what dates the shape.
