High Skin Fade
A sharp fade starting near the top of the sides.
- Cut again
- 1 to 2 weeks
- Upkeep
- High upkeep
- Length
- Short
The shortest point sits high on the head, close to where the sides meet the top, leaving a strong contrast against whatever length is left above. It is the boldest of the three fades and the one that reads most clearly from a distance.
Who it suits
- Rounder face shapes, since the height adds length to the face
- Anyone who wants a definite, high contrast look
- Thick hair, where removing weight from the sides helps
Styling it
- Book more often than you would for a low fade. Two weeks is the outside edge.
- The shorter the sides, the more the top needs shape to balance it.
As it grows out
The least forgiving fade. Because so much of the side is skin, regrowth shows within days and the contrast softens quickly.
